Solar System Water Heater

Brandon Said:

Solar water heater I need some advise when it is cloud and rain?

We Answered:

If you have electric hot water heater they take over an hour to heat up.So you must plan you day. Here in the states we get charged more for peak usage hours such as around dinner time. You will need to leave it on for a few hours and get your chores done, if you turn it on and off a few times a day it will cost you as much as leaving on all day Good luck

Nina Said:

Why should I buy a solar water heater? (and why are they so costly?)?

We Answered:

Hi, Solar is the way to go forward. It is a clean, free and completely renewable energy source. So once you have made the initial investment of buying a solar heater (they are more expensive than electric geysers, but will become cheaper as sales volumes pick up and more people like you and I begin buying them)

I love the idea of solar heaters -- for they help us use energy that is all around us, which isn't being utilised while we milk other fossil fuel sources dry. So please do consider using solar heaters. I also have a solar cooker -- make some of my daily food in it...for more details, you could see

It has an interesting article on Solar Power.

All the best!

Which hot water heater is best for this application?

We Answered:

It will depend on how much hot water you will be using if you have more than 3 people in your house I would go to a regular heater. or if you have a high demand for such as a jet tub if it is just you and your other I would get a tank less. I have one in my cabin and it is nice and care free system.
