I think the LHC is pretty overrated in its expected results, but we'll see

As for what it would mean, theoretical particle physicists already have their standard model where they act like all the stuff they wanna prove with the LHC is already true

So mainly this would be like a "yup we know what we're talking about, whoo" or a "oops we don't" or (if you ask me) "well this didn't help at all" type of situation
