Solar System Photos

Joel Said:

Are there any restrictions to solar power?

We Answered:

If you have a south facing roof with no shading from around 9AM to 3PM, you may be a good candidate for solar on your roof. They would have absolutely no affect on your neighbors, so there is no reason to consult with them. If you were looking into a wind turbine, that would be a different story.

You should look into solar water heating as well. It can produce up to 75% of your hot water, greatly reducing the amount of fuel or electricity you have to use to heat the water. Hot water can be as much as 30% of your energy bills, so this can result in substantial savings.

Both solar electric and solar water heating qualify for federal tax credits of 30% of the installed cost, that can go a long way to help pay for the systems. Many states also have rebates available, you can check them out at http://www.dsireusa.org/

Here's some great free educational videos that can help answer some of your questions about installing solar on your house. http://www.altestore.com/store/Books-Cla…

Frederick Said:

Are there any photographs of our sun taken by spaceships from all the planetary orbits of our solar system?

We Answered:

This is all I've found so far for a pic of our sun from the Voyager 1 probe...from 1990.

Just read the clip below it..and you can click on the pic to get it a little closer. Not very promising I know...but..there just isn't much out there for pictures of our sun from far away.
