Solar Power System Prices

Glenn Said:

Any advice on solar power?

We Answered:

I'm ignorant of how far south NSW is, but if the yearly sun is similar to where I live in California, 45 kWh a day would be a 10 kW array, which would be $40,000 US installed, after rebates. I'm also ignorant of the incentives in your area, or what the AUS-US conversion rate is. (There's a lot I don't know.) Add battery backup, and considering that you must run in winter at the same power, the price could easily exceed $100,000 US.

Off-grid installations are usually low-powered. I'm unaware of anyone that big that is completely off the grid.

Is there any possibility of hydro or wind power in your area? Also, would it be possible to lease servers in the city, and live a low-energy life in Lamb's valley?
