Solar Power Companies

Beth Said:

What is the best company for solar power and also for wind generators? I ive in Virginia?

We Answered:

'best' is a pretty stiff order, but if you want to buy some of these products the 'green' way and cut down on the shipping needed to get them to you, here's a nearby company that specializes in solar, wind, and lighting systems. (see link below)

from looking at their website they appear to be a high volume dealer, don't know if that will help or hurt your plan. at the very least you can give them a call and find out more, maybe they can answer some of your questions about the peculiarities of setting up such systems in the mid-atlantic part of the country.

fyi - i have no affiliation with this company whatsoever: just am happy you're interested in doing this. good luck.

Micheal Said:

The name of the solar-periwatt- power company from California that was recently shown on NBC today show?

We Answered:

I don't know. The only ones important (unless you plan to sell short) will be the ones that begin to use the Sterling engines since they are 200% as effective as conventional solar panels. These temperature difference engines will also be used in hybrid cars to get from double the mileage to 300 miles per gallon, combined with hydraulic energy storage in the wheels, solar recharges, and home or base station charges, up to about 600 mpg.

Irene Said:

Will power companies pay you for your excess power?

We Answered:

You need to check with them or your state energy commission. In California, we have net metering. When I am making more than I am using, the excess goes into the utility lines, and I can get that much back when I am using more than I am making. At the end of the year I pay them for any excess usage. If I make more than I use, it gets given to the power company.

I understand only industrial users can sell their excess to the power company here.
