The nearest star is around 4 light years away. This relatively short distance would result in a massively long number if you used light hours, and forget about using them to measure the distance to other galaxies, the nearest one being 300 million light years away.

Some areas they just don't have enough sunlight for them to work. This can be because of a lot of cloud cover or the fact they keep getting covered by snow drifts. A big problem in the west is the fact they get scratched from dust storms. It reduces how effective they are and voids the warranties of most solar panels.

Dont do solar go straight to electric lights, they are the same, little look the same, but put out much more lighting, we have them all over are house, and they are great. you can get them in a kit for i think like 20-25.00 and that is like 10 lights timer wiring the whole thing, and last forever,
