1 and 5. The black hole at the center of our galaxy is something like 28,000 light years away. Its effect on us is negligible. Mars pulls on the Earth harder than it does. EVERYTHING you have heard people say about some calamity caused by an alignment with the galactic center, or whatever, is pure bull. It's a lie, perpetrated by people who were trying to sell cheap books to a gullible market, and by some unqualified people who made a stupid documentary that the History Channel shamelessly and repeatedly aired.

2) A collision with Andromeda is likely and it would disrupt the structure of our galaxy. It could be catastrophic for earth, depending on how close we might come to a passing star, or if we get hit by a fast moving gas cloud. This isn't going to be for a couple billion years, though.

3) Nibiru doesn't exist. It was an ancient name for Jupiter. The fraud and popular author, Zechariah Sitchin, made up a lot of bunk about some planet due to come by. There was also the garbage about the Annunaki. It is ALL bollocks. Once again, Nibiru does not exist.

4) The bible made NO prediction for this 2012 date and anything predicted in the bible was almost certainly intended to refer to things within their near future. People who claim ancient prophecies related to 2012 are quacks. There isn't ONE which actually makes any such predictions. It's all lies.

The Mayan calendar didn't predict anything except movements of the sun and moon, etc. They had no clue what a galaxy was. Their calendar was very accurate and long term for a stone age society which made live human sacrifices and never invented the wheel. The stories about "accurate predictions" of the Mayans or Nostradamus or any other ancient source are ALL total bunk.

Nobody before the 1970s predicted anything for 2012. The acid-head Terrence McKenna started all this garbage back then. It's been popularized and embellished a lot since then.

Totally bogus.

People who claim that the mythical object 'Nibiru' or 'Planet X' can only be seen from the south pole have very little understanding of astronomy.

There are large telescopes located at latitudes as far south as -40 degrees. This means that the South Celestial Pole would be 40 degrees above the horizon. Over the course of a year, those locations would have a view of every part of the southern sky.

If this picture was of a new object in the southern sky, telescopes in countries like South Africa, Argentine, Chile, New Zealand, and Australia would have been able to see it. Contrary to claims, the telescopes are not operated by governments. Nearly all of them are operated by universities.

Not only that, but an object of the claimed size would be visible to every backyard astronomer with a pair of binoculars by now. This video claims that the image was taken over a year ago. So where is the object now? What are its coordinates?

There is no way to keep this a 'secret' unless you are proposing that the entire amateur astronomer population of all of the countries above is 'in on it'.

First, Pluto is just a small dim object, that does not emit its own light in the sky about 4 billion miles away from Earth with a diameter of about 1,460 miles.

Second, galaxies are around a trillion-billion miles away from Earth and are billions of times more luminous than our Sun, making them trillions and trillions times more luminous than Pluto, and galaxies have a diameter around a billion-billion miles.

Last but not least, The Hubble Space Telescope is made to resolve for objects at great distances. Basically the same reason you cannot read a newspaper with a pair of binoculars - because a pair of binoculars is made to resolve for distant objects.

Its pointless to debate such topics with ignorant fools. These people are like frogs in a well, only boast about whats around them instead of whats beyond....even if we found some sort of single or multi cellular organisam able to adapted and live in a planet similar to ours, it would claimed as a ''creation of god'' and twist the truth just like the theory of evolution or the Big Bang. As science progresses they will find news ways foe their religion to survive.

The only worthwhile rising of a planet would be from one of its moons. All the planets rise for us, but they are just little points of light, like Mercury would be from Jupiter. Now to see Jupiter rise from Io, now that would be something. Or to see Saturn rise from Enceladus...yeah, baby!
BTW, the earth doesn't rise on the moon. It is always in one place, wherever you are on the lunar surface. A still photo might look like an earth-rise, but you could just as easily think of it as an earth-set. Both would be wrong. It never gets any closer or farther away from the horizon.
Oops! Both of those moons are in gravitational sync with the planet, like our moon is. In fact, I can't think of any right now which aren't. (Titan "wobbles" a little.)
