Our Solar System Pictures

Edgar Said:

what object in our solar system is pictured below?

We Answered:

It's Callisto taken with a different color filter than the first picture here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Callisto_%2…

Amanda Said:

Is our solar system flat like a frisbee or round like a ball?

We Answered:

It's flat, although not complete flat, some planets are a few degrees out.

This is because our solar system was formed from a cloud of dust and gases (a nebular). Gravity pulled the dust and gases closer together, which caused them to start spinning faster and faster in the shape of a disk.

Bobbie Said:

How our Solar System looks like outside our Galaxy (Milky-way)? Any Picture / Any Graphic Illustration etc ..?

We Answered:

Here's an animation. After the page comes up, click on the white JAVA page and let it download by itself for a few seconds. When the black image comes up, try clicking on the options of perspectives at the bottom of the screen. It's a simple animation. I'll keep looking.
