You need "head" and volume. It sounds like you have volume but you also need to have a vertical differential: the water source needs to be probably at least six feet above the generator for starters. If the stream is higher a ways back, you can run a pipe.

The question i'd ask is, is this about building the generator, or about comparing the difference between wind and air?
it's my guess that it's the latter, so the source of the generator is not as important.
i'd suggest going to the flea market to see if you can find an old brush type electric motor, with permanent magnets for the stator.
that's the essence of a generator.

then you only need to design the connection between the fan and the water wheel.
in either case, you'll need to gear up the connection because neither will go fast enough to make much juice.

I've been studying the Brown's gas (HHO) for several years now and purchased a machine to make it. I used it as a blow torch and it was quite amazing. I also stuck the nozzle down the venturi of my truck and it ran smoother immediately. Since the machine requires 220 power, it wouldn't work in my truck. Regarding "water burning" vehicles:
Correction for all those who think the claim is that the actual liquid water burns: no, it does not. The two highly combustible components, oxygen and hydrogen, burn very cleanly when separated by electrolysis, however. There are thousands of examples of this.

So, running cars with "water burning" engines is not an idiotic claim but a scientifically well substantiated fact well worth studying closely. They will be seen on the commercial market in our lifetime, I believe - depending on your current age, of course!

2hp would be operating hp this equal 1493 Watts. A hp = 746 watts. The start up wattage can be five times the operating wattage. You will need 8KW generator for the pump. I must say my favorite post was from Ken E. Seriously? While I would completely agree that pouring water into the gas tank would most certainly not be a good idea, HHO (which incidentally consist of hydrogen) can provide extra fuel to your vehicle.
The common misconception here, is that HHO breaks the first law of thermodynamics by trying to create excess energy from nowhere. This law has always been a real thorn in the side of those who have tried to create perpetual motion machines and the like. Fortunately for HHO, the first and second laws of thermodynamics work to enforce HHO, not break it apart, as the HHO is being created via electrolysis by energy that the car has wasted. The internal combustion engine is under a quarter of it's total efficiency and an Hydrogen Assist Fuel Cell acts only to improve that efficiency.
Science is based on results. The core understanding of the Scientific Method is that a theory can not be proven without results and must in fact be found in probable or impossible.
That being said, there are numerous example of reputable institutions and governments reliance on HHO as a means to reduce emissions and improve fuel mileage. The US government has converted many of their military vehicles to HHO. South Korea has enlisted a private company to convert 100,000 of their vehicles. Even super cars have been built with HHO technology providing 450 HP with a stunning 40 mpg.
