If what you say is true, your marriage does not sound like a 'partnership.' It seems like he is the master and you and the kids are the slaves. Hard work can be good, when the whole family chips in (we have family work days and my husband works the hardest). But, you need fun too. Also, for our family, school comes first - always. We consider school to be the kids 'job.' The kids have regular chores during the week (garbage, dishwasher, etc.) and the family work days may be a couple of hours on the weekend. I know a farm is different, there is more work, but my cousins lived on a farm and were not driven like slaves. Hope this helps you decide what to do. Also, old day farmers worked really hard outside and the women mostly tended the home.
