Simply. Anything metallic you have on you. I have found it is easier and faster to simply empty my pockets whether the items are metal or not. Your laptop and Nintendo, as well as a cell phone, will have to be taken out of their cases and put in the basket as well. What ever is in your carry on bag or purse is going to be scanned anyway, so don't worry about what you have in them as long as it's legal. You will very likely be asked to take off your shoes and put them in the bin and any belts with metal buckles. Baggy clothing is not usually an issue since whatever they may be concealing will show up when you walk through the scanner.

I don't know much about the technicalities or physics of it; and know I'm not the "brightest marble in the bag" or "sharpest cookie in the jar"....Yet, after just reading 2 of your several answers so far....
I've just got to say this, friend..Apachee-----
People back in pre-airplane days were calling the Wright Brothers aim to make a "flying machine" a crazy or unfounded notion.
They just didn't see how this stuff that (apparently is POSSIBLE) was possible.
( I figure that it they didn't have the passion for flight and figuring out the mechanics of making it work...It just maybe not very easy.
Whoaw, wait a minute--JUST BEFORE CLICKING SUBMIT button here to send this I remembered...THERE ARE SOLAR POWERED CARS....If just to charge their batteries during their ignition if not their entire "mileage" of operation.
Why couldn't there be a HYBRID Helicopter that, at least, had solar-powered SOMETHING as a part of its essential system of operation??
****Even something as important as having on board a special reserve battery-powered phone, battery-powered water purification system, battery-powered de-salinization INVENTION. ???

Well, so I say--It's STILL A GREAT question and a noble idea--
The year of 2009 may just not be its time, yet.
So, since most of your other answering people here sound a lot more knowledgeable than little olde me--How about I just suggest that you "put that project on the back burner" of your mind, so to speak.
And, since you so much enjoy all things about helicopters and flying; here are my reasonable alternative school project suggestions:
Do another indepth study (complete with illustrations) of HUMMINGBIRDS in flight and the physics and design of their hovering,
flying forewards AND BACKWARDS !!
Look up Leonardo Da Vinci's original sketches and studies of the hummingbird and where he employed the corrollaries (spelling?)--similarities, shall we say....between the physical construction of a HELICOPTER and the WORKING PARTS of a hummingbird.
***A solar-powered {and light-in-weight} SOMETHING (battery?/re-cyclable? Earth-friendly! Non-mercury or lead containing!) ...could really be a "boon" to the whole human race....someday, in God's sweet time.
Please, "keep me posted" about your progress on this project, too.
