There are many ways to combine 10 power sources

In series (20V, 150 mA)
In parallel (2 V , 1500 mA)
and combinations of serial and parallel
For example in a 3x3 array (3 in series) and then in 3 sets in parallel 6 V, 450 mA

He's right solar is cheesey at best. I would at least go with low voltage landscape lighting on a timer, but make sure you like what you see because the cheaper lower voltage stuff isn't that bright either try to find fixtures that are at least 12 volts. you'll be able to see your door at least. If that isn't bright enough you would have to go with a 120 volt setup.

I think maybe we are attacking the wrong end first, there has to be alternative fuel locations as numerous as petro-chemical ones (gas stations) are now, what good is a hydrogen car if you cannt fuel it or an electric car if the electricity is produced from coal burning plants ?

NONE ! Sorry to put it that way but there is no such thing a a good solar landscape light. Even though other will probably chime in saying they have some they like. You need to go with a 12 volt system which you can install yourself or the 120 volt which you will need an electrician.

Put trellis on top of your wall/fence. Make sure it is not srtong enough to climb on but strong enough to not just pull off. I did this and put long nails through the joints but did not bend them over so that anyone grabbing a handhold gets a few rusty punctures instead. Barbed wire is OK but a bit unbsightly so if you have time grow thorny brambles and roses up and along the trellis.
All the lights and cameras are ok, but deterrence is best.
