Solar Powered Security Lights

SOLAR POWERED SECURITY LIGHT?

We Answered:

B&Q stock them as do many other outlets, we're just fitting one on the outside of our home. Why your other respondent is incredulous is beyone me, they must really be in the dark ages if they don't know about PV collectors and solar power storage! We've just built a garden studio with a solar powered heater, lighting and water pump!

A secure way to leave windows open at night.?

We Answered:

use metal fence, easy to install, cheap. And if somebody try to open it you notice!
Fix the fence on a frame and install it on it, then install the frame on your window.
You can connect electricity to it. ;)(LOL)

Looking for solar powered security light(s) at realistic price - where can I buy them? Thanks in advance?

We Answered:

Solar powered lights will be totally useless as security lighting, as you would only get a dull glow for a few hours. Get an electrician to install a photocell or PIR light depending on your requirements. A PIR would normally be a halogen floodlight, a photocell can be tungsten, but a fluorescent or SON/metal halide lamp would also be good depending on the area to be lit.

I have a Zenith Solar Powered Security Light but the sensor broke.?

We Answered:

You mean you want to get the light to only go on after dark?

Either replace the photo cell with a remote switch, or put a switch on top of the light.

The photo cell has only two wires like a switch.
