How do you vent a new shed-style roof of an addition built with high end against the ting building? We Answered:
gable vents should workEnrique Said:
Anyone have personal experience or opinions on power attic venting? I have seen pros and cons on line.?We Answered:
I've put one in a past home. 130 degrees will drive your AC costs pretty high.Use the power vent. Might check the box on the unit you're going to buy or bought. You might need two.
Anyway...heat rizes...the power vent gets rid of it. Generally, the power vent sensor doesn't kick the unit on until it reads 105.
Were it me; I'd use the conventional 110v line for the vent.
Brandy Said:
CAN I VENT FOR REDUCED BILLS?We Answered:
the force of the chimney draft is very small and wouldnt generate much power, also any device that tried to take advantage of the flow in a chimney would likely hinder the already weak flow.also it would violate aga [american gas association] codes...as a side point, one good reason to get an extra high eff furnace is because they have 2 pipes to the outside,,,one is to deliver outside air to the burner and the other to vent the exhaust gases...that way you arent wasting "conditioned air" in the home for combustion and draft........dan [the guy who asked the question]
