Solar Powered Lighting

Kent Said:

How much would it cost to install solar powered lighting?

We Answered:

You should do what I did. When you go with prefab models you'll be spending a minimum of $1500 (more if you use more energy). I went ahead and bought the parts then assembled it myself. I did two units at $200 each which cover my needs (total $400). The quote for my house was nearly $2700. I got the designs from http://www.earth4power.biz which also included places to get all the cheapest parts. It really wasnt as difficult as I thought itd be.

Luis Said:

Has anyone ever tried using a bunch of those solar powered path lights for dim lighting in their house?

We Answered:

I used them indoors - only drawback is remembering to move them to a sunny (south in US) window to charge during the day. Worked pretty well when fully charged...mine were the cheap Wallyworld variety.
