Solar Powered Flashlight

Vivian Said:

How long does a solar powered flashlight last ?

We Answered:

All flashlights have some sort of a light emitting device, the most efficient use light emitting diodes (LEDs) which have a very long life. However all things will fail sooner or later and so a solar flashlight will not last forever. There are also other electronic parts in these and they to can/will fail.

Hugh Said:

Is there a solar-powered flashlight?

We Answered:

Probably somewhere, you could build one, but what's helpful are the hand-cranked ones - you have to crank them or shake them and the light's not that bright, but it's helpful to keep in an emergency, because there's no batteries. They're particularly helpful to keep in your car in cold weather because even when it's freezing out, they'll still work (because there are no batteries to get drained of power in the cold).

Herman Said:

I bought a solar powered flashlight for emergencies but it doesn't work, did I get ripped off?

We Answered:

Always leave in a place that gets sun daily. So the battery charges ever day constantly unless the manufactor stats otherwise.

i bought this solar powered flashlight for emergencies?

We Answered:

I also bought solar flashlights. One worked, the other didn't.
I tossed the bad one, and good one is still going.
Make sure you have the thing turned "off" position, then put it in a southern facing sunny spot for a day, then try it again.
If it still doesn't work, take it back and try another one.
