Are solar powered chargers for ipods/phones really helping?

We Answered:

I have a solio charger and it goes with me wether im close to home or not - as its a hybrid you can charge it either from the sun/solar or from the mains socket. All charge gets stored on an internal battery which you can then use to charge your ipod/phone.

Is it worth it? Yeah definatly - in decent conditions, 1 hours charge from the sun will give about the same in return on my cell phone, cant really complain about that.

Im not sure about the cheaper ones, but i think its a very good investment.

What is a good Solar Powered charger for a Camera & Ipod?

We Answered:

You should get a Solio charger. They are by far the best i've used, and are very efficient at charging my Iphone. It will charge a lot of gadgets, including ipods and camera's, and you can charge if from the mains as well which is an added bonus.

The internal battery will store charge for up to a year without losing it so you shouldnt get caught short in an emergency and an hours sun gives 20-30 minutes talk time, or about an hours charge.

solar powered fence chargers?

We Answered:

Try Tape fencing on the top, and two or three rows of barbless wire. That has always kept all of our horses in, and other horses out. =)

If I were in your situation, I would definitely give the solar fence charger a try.... even with only 8 hours of sunlight a day.

JUST because we have had great luck with ours... and I won't use an electric one again. Why waste money on paying for something you don't have to, when you can get the energy from the sun? They are plenty powerful too, if you get a good charger. Don't opt for a cheap charger whether you're getting electric or solar....
Look into different brands. =)
