Solar Power Water Fountain

Dan Said:

I need help with my pond?

We Answered:

No decent solar pump will work for what you want to do. The technology is not developed enough yet.

You will be better off if you treat each pond separately rather than try to move the water from the bottom to the top and back again. Lots of things can impede the downward progress of the water and soon you will have empty ponds because the water leaked out of the stream.
You will need a pump that is powered with electricity tho.

How can I power a small fountain/pump 50 ft from an outlet?

We Answered:

Run from the closest outlet to the fountain using the appropriate size wiring for the current load. Use UF cable not the NM. Bury the wire to the required depth, we use 18" here, and come up with conduit and to a weatherproof box, as was mentioned in the other answers. The UF is good for direct burial, but if you'd feel safer, or you are going to be digging in the area with plantings then run it in PVC pipe for extra protection. Good luck.

There are all sorts of Christmas Lights and decorations that are solar powered. Here's a link with some examples:

solor powered fountain pump?

We Answered:

water pumps dont light lights.

I recommend you just replace or fix the old pump and put the solar panel on your house. It's alot of unneccesary work to figure out what solar panel hookups would do all that.
