Why not? Its a great way of conserving energy naturally. Its unfortunate that we don't use this method more frequently. It would definately benefit the environment.

Good first - free electricity almost all day light's day, no pollution and help green-ing environment.
Bad - The house would be like a oven cause similar reason to the black colour car. Cloudy for days then going to suffer blackout. Voltage i think will be hard to contol because is a DC mode and the sunlight stronger or weaker will effect it. Last, even you buy a DC to AC converter, and a power storage plus the solar panel cover all the house, it going to cost a bomb maybe price of the house. By calculation by consume electricity home user, it's price too high by using solar power being based source of the electric than electricity bill for the 30years.
