Solar Power Domestic

Jonathan Said:

Do you agree that if you don't put a price on carbon emissions, you're not serious about energy independence?

We Answered:

Yes!

Brent Said:

It is possible to install complete Solar Power On over 52 million?

We Answered:

Jean, I live in southern Arizona, and solar power is a big thing here.
I was talking to someone a couple weeks ago and he gave me this website http://www.nanosolar.com/about.htm which is about a new technology that makes solar cells pretty cheap to produce, to the extent that yes, almost everyone can have solar energy.
The person that gave me this site has ordered an electric car from this site http://www.teslamotors.com/ .
I have eMailed my representative about eliminating energy subsidies for oil companies except in the case of alternative energy research and development which will decrease our "carbon footprint" -- namely all-electric/solar transportation modes.
She is now on the energy sub-committee and I am hopeful she will be a voice for sanity in energy independence.
The senators from Arizona are another matter.
Thank you for your very good question.

We Answered:

This is pure conservative economics. This is the free market speaking and it works.

Anyone who confuses a trade system with tax knows nothing about economics and should not be answering this question. When any resource is given for free, it is wasted. Vast amounts of water is wasted by Southern California agribusiness because it is subsidized and the business do not need to address the real cost of water. The same is true of unpolluted air: if companies are allowed to pollute freely, they will do so endlessly.

It is only liberal lovers of big government and give-aways who protest cap-and-trade. Only commies protest it. Those who have paid a little attention to history and learned that the free market creates more commerce and more wealth embrace the cap-and-trade. It is the free market tool.

In a true free-market, all costs are paid by those to create them.
