Yes money is a factor, but it relates to the actual energy produced. Until recently it took more energy to make a solar pannel than it would ever produce in it's working lifetime.

For that reason solar pannels were only practical in places or things where connection to the electricity grid would be impractical.

Since then the cost of making solar pannels has improved considerably both in terms of energy and costs. Howeve they are still about the most expensive way to make electricity. Busineesses make the same decisions as homeonwers based on what they can afford, and except for a few individuals who want to make a point very few homes have solar pannes either.

As for the business system it is trying hard to improve the manufacture technology of solar pannels because many people know that if they can make a more cost effective solar pannel a lot of people would buy it and the business that sold it would become rich.

Business and capitalism are the solution to apply to many of our energy problems, not the root of them. There is a demand by the public for better technology that saves energy, but most individuals cant pay the price of expensive new technology. The businesses realize it and attempt to research the technology to make it cheaper so their own company can make a profit.

As for those promoting solar power. IT IS BUSINESSES that sell it, certainly those businesses promote it.

Solar Products are great where the sun shines the longest...

Look at taking your sales to other countries like Australia that have a maturing industry that is still growing and has the need to power lots of devices out there using solar technology...
