Solar Panels For Electricity

solar electricity not charging?

Do you have a bridge diode on your backup generator preventing power loss? This diode keeps power from going back into your generator from your batteries. You really need a volt meter to keep an eye on the voltage of your batteries. How else will you know whats in your batteries? I have a setup where when my panels are low on power, a backup power supply kicks on using a relay switch wired into my batteries so it runs only about 20 seconds to keep my batteries free from danger of being undercharged. I have the same problem this time of year and am sure we both are not alone. The days are starting to get longer which means more daylight which we need to charge our batteries.
Here is the type of volt meter you should have, and it can be left on 24-7 seeing it consumes very little power.
