Yes we think that you huge businesses should stop your hugely profitable exploits and instead spend billions investing in renewable energy. Afterall it's only money isn't the planets more important and I am sure you didn't become Oil barons because you are incredibly selfish and want far more than everyone else even if it means millions have to starve and die and suffer.

People wake up stop your governments from supporting these people renationalise your power industry invest in research and maximise renewable energy. Or sit back and let them charge you interest on the loans your govenment takes to buy weapons that you manufacture to send your own people to die for their profit and finacial security.

There was a study a while back that siad that taking something like 2% of the land in Nevada and converting it to solar would be enought to power the Country. There's als ample evidence that theres more then enough wind around the clock in certain areas toi give 24hr power. It's all about money though!

Well, you fail to define future, but I assume you mean 25 or 50 years down the road.

I would imagine as fossil fuels run low and their negative side effects get more intolerable, people will work on making solar energy more efficient and cost effective on order to use it as a primary energy source.

So basically to get 50 KWH in 4.5 hours, you would need 12 KW of panels. At about $10 a watt installed, that would cost you $120,000. I think a wind turbine would be less expensive but you'll have to check to see if your neighbours will let you have one.

You should work on insulating your home first to try and get your power usage down. If you have airconditioning, you may want to consider running an absorption chiller off hot water from some evacuated tube solar collectors. Running absorption based air conditioners directly off solar heat is a bit of a toss up since small scale chillers are expensive but the solar thermal collectors are cheap compared to photo-voltaics.

Not possible.

Most of these do not produce enough lto sustain power (long term power) to move a vehicle (normally weighs about 1 ton).

Also problem on efficiency and mounting of equipment which will make the car even heavier.

You might want to ask yourself this questionon whether you want to drive at 25 mph to your destination. And instead of taking 30 mins now it takes 2 hours.
