Solar Power Questions: ROI?

We Answered:

Zero? Negative? Since solar power cost more to produce than grid power if you have power available you are essentially operating at a loss. The only thing that can make it viable is government subsidy for installation or subsidies for repurchasing power. Those change all the time and the price paid for power is local.

Nobody is going to do all that work for you or can for your locale. You might find some discussions or articles on it. If you can do all the installation and maintenance work yourself you might be able to break even, with the subsidies.

But it is still not a money making idea in it's own right. The cost per watt for solar still needs to come down first.
