Solar Panels Rebate

Katherine Said:

Has anyone gotten their solar panel rebates in Florida?

We Answered:

Do not count on getting the rebate soon or if at all. You should get on the list and wait until the funds are released.

Good luck.

Summary:
Note: There is currently a waiting list for rebates from the Solar Energy Incentives Program. This program has received $5 million in federal funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). This funding will be used to award rebates to some of the systems that are on the waiting list. The state has applied for an additional $9.4 million in federal funding for this rebate program. Systems applying for the rebate at the present time will be placed on the waiting list. If additional federal funded is received, the approved applications will be awarded rebates based on the order in which they were received. FY 2009-2010 is the last year of the solar rebate program and the last year the program could be funded under current authorizing statute.

Florida's Solar Energy System Incentives Program was established in June 2006 (SB 888) to provide financial incentives for the purchase and installation of solar energy systems from July 1, 2006, through June 20, 2010. A total of $2.5 million was available for FY 2006-2007; $3.5 million was available for FY 2007-2008, and $5 million is available for FY 2008-09.

Gerald Said:

How much money and how does one hook up Solar Panals for gov Dept. of Energy tax rebate?

We Answered:

Only buy solar panels made by Evergreen Solar. They do not use the petroleum based products in their panels like First Solar or the others do.

Stella Said:

Why do they only offer one solar rebate per person?

We Answered:

Are you married? Have a partner? Anyone else besides yourself that has a social security number? Do you see where I'm going with this? I agree with what you're saying. You should get another credit so get it how ever you can. I would find someone who knows about Solar credit and ask them how to do this. Does the state you live in have any rebates or credits? Leave no stone unturned. To answer your last question:No. I don't believe they want Solar on every house. They just want us to think they do.Back in the 1980's people abused the law by jacking up the cost of systems so people could get a big credit. This is why the law has been changed but I feel if you move 20 times and put Solar on you should get a credit. Period!

Alfredo Said:

Is there any rebates for solar panels in South Carolina?

We Answered:

Move to Colorado, they give a 65% rebate.
You need a "liberal" congress to pass laws that give rebates. I doubt if a conservative house like in S.C. would give any tax breaks to anything but oil.

Heidi Said:

I want to know if there is a tax rebate for purchasing a hybrid car in California if so where do I go for it?

We Answered:

I don't know about the solar panels, but to get a tax rebate for a hybrid car you need to first make sure it's eligible for one.

Currently, no Toyota or Lexus hybrids qualify for Federal tax rebates. Only Ford, Nissan, Honda and GM hybrids still qualify: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/tax_hybri…

To claim a Federal Tax Credit if your hybrid qualifies for one, you need to file a Form 8910 with your 1040 Income Tax Return.

California has some state incentives you might qualify for, here: http://www.eere.energy.gov/afdc/progs/st…

Hope this helps.
