You may want to look in to what it takes to becoming a certified installer; it sounds like they have a good scam going. In WI we have a similar problem of having to use only Focus on Energy certified installers to get the rebate, but the owner gets the check. When I called them they told me that too many people with little or no skill tried to install themselves and ended up with a pile of useless junk. Personally, I agree with you that the wrong people are getting rich off of people who are trying to do the right thing. I was lucky enough to have some on sue for the right to self install wind systems in WI and still get the cash back reward so I went that route.

Sorry but not in Canada. While the vast majority of Canadians live close to the 45th parallel, we still don't get a lot of sunshine during the winter months.

Still, continue your studies because there may very well be a need for qualified technicians like you. However, not in Canada at least, not at this point in time.

I like the part about 'northern Britain again under piles of global warming', since that will go way over the heads of any alarmists.
Or they will say that 'weather is not climate and you are too foolish to understand the difference' or, ' this is exactly what our computer models predicted' etc. etc...

Of course we know that there is a difference between weather and climate.
We also have enough intelligence to differentiate between science fact and science fiction.

Carbon emission reductions, would have zero impact on any 'climate change'.

The best benefit is from the consumers getting the majority of the rebate. The business can still charge its regular rate for installation and still make the same amount of money per panel and will still get more business. More panels will be installed when consumers are given the rebate incentive to buy them. Consumers will have more cash flow thanks to the rebate AND a reduced energy bill, which will encourage them to spend more of that cash on other goods and services. Everybody wins.
