Some models may be best to simply be removed.
Other Quality solar panels may have a very simple fix.
Solor panels as you indicated are valuable and energy savings add up in a hurry.
If able to be repaired - check that option first.

There were and still may be goverment grants available for adding new solar panel systems to your home.

depends on your electric supplier - but most will give you a system/service that lets you run your meter backward if you are producing more electric than you are using.

At the Florida training center. I have solar on the shedrows
for the horses. The run the fans, and the A/C in the mare
and foal barn. Cut my power bill there by 45%. Well worth
the investment. However you have to watch what you run
with the system if you overload it, Not good
