Solar Electric Panels

Marsha Said:

How many solar panels and whatelse do I need to power a 220v 1hp, 0.75kw electric motor?

We Answered:

with the specifications, roughly calculated, you would need
68 Ah of battery load to provide the power for one day run.
that's a medium type as for cars, so a 12V paneel has to
put out about 7-8 A, for reasonable recharging parameters.

if you add a second battery for redundance, cloudy days
won't too much bother anymore and you might give it a try
with just 100 Watts, depending on what 'unit' they offer ...
here I'd take one of the common 140 Watt type, inverter
may be a simple type since such motors need no good sinus.

Michelle Said:

If you install solar panels, do you still have to pay the electric company?

We Answered:

Depends on how much your solar system generates and how much electricity you use.

If your system generates more than you use, your meter will run backwards and the electric company is required by law to pay you. But if you use more than your solar cells provide, then you will still have to pay for the difference which was provided by the utility.

Emma Said:

If providing u had a 1-electric rocket 2-and solar panels for propagation could u with gravity slowly?

We Answered:

I can't exactly tell what you intend, but I can't see any reason why it isn't possible in principle to do something like that. As a practical matter, i don't know of any solar panels that could draw enough power to lift themselves off the ground without storing energy for a while into a battery.

How do I build an electric scooter with a rechargeable battery or solar panels? Is solar or rechargable better

We Answered:

If you are asking this question here it's probably too dangerous for you to try this by yourself.

For your second question though, there is no reason that a scooter couldn't be both solar AND rechargeable, and that is probably how you'd want to do it anyway. The solar cells would recharge the battery, but since you wouldn't have room to put enough solar cells on a scooter to keep it powered up all the time you would need to plug it in every so often to keep it charged up.

If you must go with one or the other then solar is not practical by itself, the sun is not always shining and you could not fit enough cells on a scooter to keep it running at more than a crawl.
