Hey Spk, Ravi has some good points about tenting, but to answer your question directly, solar panels should not have any problem with tenting. They are made primarily of aluminium, acrylic and silicone, pretty inert rom a chemical standpoint. If tenting doesn't do damage to motherboards on computers and other electronics, then it won't bother the panels. Just make sure when the tenting is done that the panels are clear of debris, and appear clean.

Our home has been solar powered for over 10 years now, I've never had to clean them for any reason, except to brush snow off them in the winter once in a while. Like Ravi, my concerns about tenting are more environmental than electronic based. Good luck Spk, and take care, Rudydoo

This is a very good idea. Maybe you should write your senators and congressmen and let them know, write to the news media, and to power companies in your area, and find other border state power companies and write them as well.

Find yourself a lobbyist and have them go shout for you in Congress.

I do believe it is a good idea. It takes care of fossil fuel problems, and energy problems, privatizes the security of the border, and builds the fence that the US Government has been spouting about the last couple years.

Illegals are not illegal if they stay on their side of the border, they could employ people on both sides, Americans on the US side, and Mexicans on the Mexico side to keep everyone honest and on the **right** side of the border.

In addition, due to NAFTA, maybe the energy companies could make some sort of deal with Mexico to share the power that the solar panels and turbines are producing. That would help them with their energy problems as well.

This is why they should be manufactured and used in space, not on earth. Nuclear power as a stopgap until space based solar gets on line is the best option of all. Nuclear plants only have waste because Jimmy Carter made a presidential decree stopping reprocessing and recycling of it like all the other nations of the world do. With recycling we have enough material to go 100% nuclear and meet most of out needs for 100,000 years or go mostly space based solar which would cut all the worlds pollution by 99% and last for a couple million years. Point is there are clean, safe practical solutions out there available almost as turn key but the promoters of the AGW hoax do not want that as it would cut into the huge profits they are making from the production, distribution and sales of fossil fuels now.
