Install Solar Power

Karl Said:

anyone know who sells and install a solar power here in the philippines?

We Answered:

If you want to know how much power your AC consumes then look at its specifications. Look for the wattage indicated there. Normally it is a number followed by W like 1000W or 1kW (k=1000, if you don't know). If you're to compute your bill from that, better go to this Meralco page where you can calculate your energy consumption cost:
http://www.meralco.com.ph/Consumer/mybil…

Now, on the question on who sell and install solar panels here in the Philippines, the answer is none. Why? First, solar panels are expensive. A 2 ft by 2 ft solar panel costs from P20000 to P40000. When a company decides to have solar panels installed in their establishments, they normally hire foreign firms for this.

If you're really insistent in knowing where can you find these stuffs, you can contact meralco personally. I believe their company promotes the wise use of energy and they have put a lot of money for alternative energy research. Or you can go to University of the Philippines' Solar Lab at Diliman. UP Solar Lab has been active in helping rural areas in the provinces which previously have no access to electricity by installing solar panels to their places.

If you are looking for information on a small, economical system...I suggest you take a look at this interesting website...http://www.otherpower.com/wardsolar.html
You can gage whether this $700 system is too light or if it may work for your lifestyle. You can enhance it from there.
