Grants Solar Panels

Lena Said:

where can i get information on grants for woodburning stoves and solar panels?

We Answered:

If you live in the U.K. your local council authority or your local citizens advice bureau can help you.

Diane Said:

Are there any grants for schools in NY so that they can put up solar panels?

We Answered:

I don't know for sure, but think it unlikely, as I'm unaware of any general grants for panels even in traditionally green California. Options to explore include taking up a collection among parents, finding a rich alumnus/alumna of the school who would sponsor it, or getting a local tax measure passed.

The schools in our area took this last approach. Here is the one of the arrays that one of the high schools put up: http://www.fhs.fuhsd.org/measureb/solar_… .

Would love to install solar panels & a wind mill at my house to "Go Green" Are there any "grants" to help cost?

We Answered:

Go to http://www.dsireusa.org/ and click on your state it gives a listing of many of them. Some states are better than others. I live in Wisconsin and got almost $12,000 in grants for my wind turbine.

Oscar Said:

Is there a federal grant that can help to pay to install solar panels at a private school?

We Answered:

A Google search brought me to this page, taking a quick look at it makes me think it has potential to help. http://www.alternate-energy-sources.com/…

I also found this site that may be helpful http://fedmoney.com/.

The DSIRE database has incentives for Federal, state, and regional. http://www.dsireusa.org/

It may take a bit of searching, but there is money out there, depending on where and who you are.
