When you go to the store to but light bulbs which is cheaper: Compact fluorescent or incandescent.?

We Answered:

Incandescent is cheaper, but in the long run the compact will save you more money, not just in electric savings but in replacement. Compacts will last much longer.

Alex Said:

Is there an artificial material or structure of materials that can record or store light?

We Answered:

My apologies to the previous answer-"ers", but they're wrong. Scientists have managed to "freeze" light in space. The methodology is beyond me (a cloud of ultra-cold sodium atoms), but they described the frozen beam as gel-like.
Of course this is far from what you describe, but the first daguerrotype was also far from the the HD images we have today. The principal idea is there.

Which pot-light type and size using low-voltage lamps would you recommend for 9-foot kitchen ceiling area.?

We Answered:

First let me say it was good of you to at least ask queations at a lighting showroom. Depending on how many you have in the room will determine the wattage. Is it the only or main source of lighting? We have usually put in from 50W to 75W. I would say a 50W with either a wide beam spread or maybe a little narrower if you need concentrated light, like over a work surface. You will probably get the same reccomendations from that same Showroom, they could also get your proper bulbs. There are quite a variety on the market to choose from, from long life to black backs which will force more heat out the front of the bulb rather than into the fixture itself.
