Great and thanks for trying to help the planet also!! Solar would be great for this application. If you want it on the roof you need a clear southern facing roofline. Or just for stables pending on how much light you need you may get by with a pole mounted solar system. I dont have the site in front of me but if you get back to me i can forward you to one. The panels themselves do not store energy. The energy is stored in banks of batteries (like care batteries). When there is a draw on the power, the energy flows from the battery through a converter and to your appliance that uses the energy.
