Solar Lighting System

Seth Said:

All of the planets in the solar system orbit the Sun in roughly the same plane. Why?

We Answered:

b. conservation of angular momentum of the collapsing gas cloud during the formation of the solar system.

Perry Said:

Would it be possible to see our own solar system in the past?

We Answered:

Nice concept, but there's just one problem with that idea. The light that would be coming off of our solar system would be traveling faster than the solar system itself so the image of our past solar system would have already gone by before we arrived to look at it. It'd be like firing a gun while on a merry-go-round and trying to hit yourself on the other side. The bullet would already be out of the merry-go-round before you get there.

We'd be able to see another solar system in our own galaxy in the past, with solar systems many light years away from use, but we're way behind the light from our own system so it just wouldn't be possible.
