One homeowner in our area was a bit upset when the school put in lights for the game field next door. The lights were so bright and they lite up his yard so much that his kids could not get to sleep. Then he noticed that his solar panel showed that it was charging at night. So he repositioned his panel to take advantage of this extra light and block the windows in the resulting shadows.
