Want ideas for an Adult Scavenger hunt?

We Answered:

Sorry, but I think several of these ideas are rather juvenile, while many others are outright illegal . . . and not much fun considering a scavenger hunt is supposed to be both challenging AND fun.
You might consider combining a scavenger hunt with a road rally, where you use different kinds of measurements (i.e. miles, kilometers, nautical miles, time, etc.) to get to and from different points, and when you get to these points, you have to answer questions relating to that area. For example, I did one out in the country that, if followed correctly, took us to a country cemetery and we had to answer questions that were found on tombstones. If you did something like this, you would have to do several run-throughs to make sure your directions and instructions were correct.
Also, you could ask people to get things like a silver dollar, an oak leaf, i.e. things that aren't stolen or involve breaking any laws.
I LOVE both scavenger hunts and rallys and have been on both.
Good luck!

Can we slow down global warming by painting all rooftops with solar reflective paint?

We Answered:

You make a very good point and a scheme using this very principle is being put forward as one way of combatting global warming.

Painting rooftops will reflect *some* of the sunlight and heat back out of the atmosphere but not all that much. There's a couple of things to bear in mind - the total surface area of every roof is only a tiny fraction of the surface area of the earth, somewhere in the order of a five thousandth of the world's surface area (assuming 100 square meters for each of the planet's inhabitants that live in a building with a solid roof). Another problem would arise for people like me who live in a generally cold climate (England) where it would be necessary to turn the heating up to compensate for the loss of natural heating.

However, if it was done on all practical properties it would make a difference, small though it would be.

The similar principle being considered is one that involves artificially creating clouds. Sea water would be fired up into the atmosphere to create clouds in order to reflect the sun back out of the atmosphere.

Are we simply supposed to take Obama's word that Cap&Trade legislation won't hurt the economy?

We Answered:

NO!! We are not simply supposed to take his word for it, nor the word of senators who passed a bill that wasn't even written yet!!!

We all need to ask A LOT of questions and soon...before all these things are made into law and we have no say about our future!
