Best, easiest outdoor lighting for a party?

We Answered:

Tiki torches are AWESOME
Citronella candles.....they do DOUBLE duty.....give off light plus repel mosquitos and other flying insects
Wrap your trees, any poles, etc in your yard with clear, white Christmas lights.....these don't give off a ton of light, but they will give off some....plus they are beautiful

Hope this helps! Have a GREAT party!

Can I add an on off switch to a single low voltage (12v) outdoor light?

We Answered:

All switches have a voltage and current rating. I.E 120 volt 15 amp. As long as the load you are switching is at or below these ratings it is safe and legal to use. Make sure the outlet box and cover are weatherproof. The person at your local hardware store should be able to show you what you need.

We Answered:

You can get "gels", colored plastic film that go in front of stage and spot lights. You might be able to buy or borrow some from a local school drama department . RScott

lighting tips for a late afternoon/evening outdoor backyard wedding?

We Answered:

yea x-nay on teh candles, theyre almost disasterous! If you really like the look of candles, then go with LED candles that flicker..they look very real and if you order them in bulk from a website like americanbridal.com theyre pretty cost effective.

An altarnative that I chose to use were little mini lanterns. theyre are sooo cute! I ordered them from http://www.theknot.com and scattered them everywhere! they went with the theme of my wedding though, they light up the WHOLE backyard, we already tested them-theyre amazing. Whats the theme of your wedding? Then I can give you some more ideas!!
