We Answered:

There are both. You can purchase a photocell socket that goes between the bulb and your fixture socket and will turn your light on at sundown and off at sunup. There is also an electronic switch that you can program to turn your lights on and off at times you determine. It goes in place of your current switch and is available at most large hardware retailers. I hope this has helped.
