I work in FL, use to work at a native nursery that specialized in endangered plants. Sounds like a scrub mint. Condrina maybe. Have you seen flowers? If they are purple, it's a mint. about 2-3 ft tall, bush. IM me and we can figure it out. I know a lot of places you can get something like that without stealing it.
