Hugh Said:

Why are environmentalists so critical of people?

We Answered:

As you can tell, from the small sample of anti-human comments from many sources in the environmental community, these people hate humans. And unfortunately, that is a common denominator of most groups, the Sierra Club, the Audubon Society, the Wilderness Society, and most others. It is to the point that if you are an environmentalist, you hate people-good points, keep up the good work-

Fun things to do with a dog run?

We Answered:

If you do not need the stuff sell them! Other than that you could fix the lamps and use them.

Events that we see in the distant universe through our telescopes?

We Answered:

"...Can we ever really know the true landscape of our heavens given a picture we see a thousand light years away..."

Can we *ever* know? Ever is a long, long time, so I think we should hold the door open on your question. As long as our observations are constrained as they are now by the speed of light there's no way we can see anything as it is right "now." You can't even say you can see the condition of your hand held before your eyes right "now," because it takes light a finite time to get from your hand to your eyes. We are constantly living in the past..!

r we doing something about global warming?

We Answered:

This is a cycle that the earth has been through before. Human actions add to it but by a small percentage (not to say that we shouldn't clean up our act anyway).
Did you also know that scientisits have just discovered that global warming is also happening on Mars?

Do you gave any other suggestions on how to save our earth?

We Answered:

Don't worry about ANY of that stuff. "Jesus" is comin' to "take us all home", really soon!

(At least, that's what Christian conservative Republican James Watt , the Secretary of the Interior under Ronald Reagan, used to say AND the attitude he displayed in the policies he put forth.)

Can a "sun" orbit a planet?

We Answered:

Not an actual sun, because it would have to be more massive than a planet to be a sun, but it would be possible for a luminous object of some kind to do so, for instance a highly radioactive object or one with a strong magnetic field exposed to a strong source of charged particles. That would develop aurora, but the planet it orbited wouldn't have life on the surface, as we know it at least.

I've just thought of another possibility. A planet completely covered in ocean could have luminous organisms living in it which glowed at night and orbit a gas giant relatively close to its primary.
