Hybrid Solar Lighting

Jim Said:

should I get a hybrid, disel or regular gasoline consumer car?

We Answered:

The easiest way to decide is to determine your immediate cost versus cost savings over time. The hybrid is generally the easiest to determine. Let's say you're going to keep the car for 6 years, the car gets 20 mpg average and the hybrid version gets 30 mpg average. At 12,000 miles a year, you'd be hitting about 600 gallons a year versus 400 gallons. The different is 200 gallons at the current pricing of $4 a gallon, you save $800 a year. Look at the price of the hybrid, subtract the number of years you'll have the car times the average savings per year.

Diesel's about the same, since the general "benefit" of diesel is better gas mileage.

The final question, is going hybrid worth paying a little more so your car is more eco-friendly?

Gladys Said:

tell me everything you know about the sun.?

We Answered:

See the links below. You can also sing this song, which you can find at the nih.gov link provided.

The sun is a mass of incandescent gas
A gigantic nuclear furnace
Where Hydrogen is built into Helium
At a temperature of millions of degrees

The sun is hot, the sun is not
A place where we could live
But here on Earth there'd be no life
Without the light it gives

We need its light, we need its heat
The sun light that we seek
The sun light comes from our own sun's
Atomic energy

The sun is hot...

The sun is so hot that everything on it is a gas
Aluminum, Copper, Iron, and many others

The sun is large...

If the sun were hollow, a million Earth's would fit inside
And yet, it is only a middle size star

The sun is far away...

About 93,000,000 miles away
And that's why it looks so small

But even when it's out of sight
The sun shines night and day

We need its heat, we need its light
The sun light that we seek
The sun light comes from our own sun's
Atomic energy

Scientists have found that the sun is a huge atom smashing machine
The heat and light of the sun are caused by nuclear reactions between
Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Carbon, and Helium

Edith Said:

What do you think of Solar Sail/laser hybrid space craft propulsion?

We Answered:

it sounds extremely promising for short term space traveling trips within the solar system. my main concerns though would be the potential for any small meteors to puncture the sail, overheating, and a loss of power if it sails to far out. as an added bonus, i bet they can convert some of the rays for solar powered energy to drive any satelllites internal systems

Bernard Said:

Are we actually helping to save the planet yet?

We Answered:

yeah, I think so. It's definitely going to help in the long term.

I just read from financial analyst Jubak on MSN that, in fact, newly christened market giants like China are causing more general harm to the environment because.... surprise ....
they're not as conscientious in they're industrial practices and strategies.
For example, a lot of Chinese companies don't consider the cost of environmental clean-up so they can undercut foreign competitors' costs and thus indulge in short-lived financial booms. Not to mention that China has the greatest number of dangerously polluted cities in the world and there's approximately 300 million people there without access to safe drinking water!

And China supposedly signed the Kyoto Protocol? I don't get it.

The point is to stay conscientious about safeguarding the environment, regardless of what world opinion or politicians would have you believe. Historically speaking, the United States has consistently been vocal about environmentalism and conservation.
As you can see and will invariably find out, quite a few other countries simply are not.

Leon Said:

what the career to discover new renewable energy?

We Answered:

Could use the sun, how plants use their energy to create food, can also make solar powered cars, which would moons to trap CO2.
