The manufacturer depending on the brand, will have a special battery or standard rechargable, see if you can locate the battery then take it to a local hardware store, where someone should be able to help you find the proper battery, or help you order one from the manufacturer.

Yes you can, they may take longer to recharge. I always give mine a two or three day charge with the switch in the off position, so they get a good charge, then switch them back on. Hope this helps. AJ.
