We Answered:ie the computer fan motor as a prime mover to the alternator
i dont think that the computer fan motor has the capacity to drive the alternator even if it may generate some low power output which is not enough to provide the required supply for our home.

When considering a off grid or grid connect power system; the two main choices for renewable energy equipment are wind turbines and solar panels. So which is the superior, wind energy or solar power?
It really depends on your geographical location and energy requirements, but given the substantial investment involved with either option, it's critical to select the right system for your needs from the outset. Getting it wrong can cause you not only great expense, but major headaches.
For most suburban and rural settings and applications; solar power is usually the best choice for the following reasons.
A solar power system:
* Has no moving parts
* Has better reliability and panels usually carry a 25 year warranty
* Requires less monitoring
* Does not require expensive maintenance
* Provides more predictable energy output based on NASA data.
* Better value for money in sites with average wind speeds less than 5 meters per second
* Is less conspicuous than a wind turbine
* Is totally silent in operation
* Allows for quicker installation with less cable required
* Is less susceptible to lightning damage
* Is less susceptible to high wind damage.
* Requires less space in most cases as the panels can be installed on a roof
Additionally, many local government authorities are rather averse to permitting wind turbines being erected within townships and in some instances they are totally banned. Even the quietest of turbines do generate some noise, so they really aren't all that well suited to suburban areas where neighbours may be disturbed and perhaps complain.
As mentioned, it really does depend on your needs as to the type of system you should choose as wind energy certainly has its place and is an important part of the renewable energy mix; so if in doubt, contact an expert who can assess your energy requirements in conjunction with your geographical location and recommend a system to suit.

We Answered:You can buy them. Oase makes the best one I know. That said, the technology for solar powered pumps is not as good as it could be and the failure rate is high. I wish they were higher on the list of important things to do.

Greetings: I am writing to inform you that your endorsement of PowerFreedom.com, a site claiming to be able to save individuals as much as 70% on their electric bills should be rescinded and your logo removed from their homepage as PowerFreedom.com is a fraud. This site claims a Ontario, Ca. address. In its advertising, PF.com claims to be able to show you how to build your own solar cells and wind turbine systems and install them yourself. This is not the case. What one pays for is not what one gets. I, and probably a great many others, purchased the $47.00 package which was to include the information mentioned above. What I received was one book with an accompanying CD about solar system installation only. Nothing was provided regarding the construction of solar cells and/or wind turbines. After a number of communications with PF.com to resolve this issue which include removing their deceitful and fraudulent advertising of the internet and refunding money to those that did not get what they paid for, PowerFreedom.com admitted that they no longer provide the advertised information, do not have any replacement information for that which they no longer provide, and have no plans to provide said information in the near future. I am not sure that your organization would have any resources to deal this this website. However, if you do, your assistance in shutting down these rip-off artists would be greatly appreciated. If you are interested in receiving a copy of my communications with PowerFreedom.com and a list of websites they currently advertise on, feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time and consideration. Jake Jacobson
