Ken Said:

why hasn't Spielberg made a sequel to 'Close Encounters?'?

We Answered:

He is smart. Every movie, no matter how good it is, should not have a sequel or prequel.

Foreign oil or newer technologies?

We Answered:

We could be off foreign oil within a couple years with technology already available (without drilling in ANWR) while creating millions of US jobs and saving billions of dollars, but someone is getting rich off keeping things the way they are now. With over a trillion $ spent in Iraq so far and $700 billion going out for oil imports each year the government could actually help the country out by supporting American energy companies who invest and make lives better at home.

Im thinking about building a huge floating island raft.hear my idea.do you think it can be done?

We Answered:

Sorry, an idea like that is a bit much.
If that's what you're considering, maybe get a cruiseship instead?

Here are some ideas:
1. If you're trying to be green, there are many other ways you can make a bigger impact for lower cost.
2. An island that you can't steer, that moves around; you can easily get grounded on a shore somewhere, and the idea won't be of much use.
3. The costs are going to be a LOT.
4. Unfortunately, most herbs don't work for illnesses as well as standard medication from the drugstore.
5. You're going to have to make the soil very deep if you want to grow trees, fruits, vegetables. And topsoil is expensive, not to mention the huge amount of airtight barrels you'll need to keep this afloat.
6. If you build it on shore, how are you going to move it into the ocean?
7. There are tsunamis, hurricanes, quite a bit can happen at sea; you'll need a real fort to stay alive for a while.

Great imagination, but a better idea would be to put that brain to something in space.
Don't worry, I used to think like this too xD

Best of luck!
and eco-homes / solar panels are the way to go!

What do you think of my house plans- if I win the lotto?

We Answered:

You don't really need to win lotto to do all that .
We have rubbish collection twice a year where people put all items they don't need onto the verge ....wood, bricks, tiles, paints, fencing, metal sheets etc etc. I can do enough rounds and build a dwelling from all these material !
I am already growing my fruits and vegies plus catching my own seafood...fish, crayfish , scallops, mussels, prawns and crabs .Only need a cow to keep me from shopping for milk !
Got compost bin and worm farms, nothing is wasted in this house !

We Answered:

I think this is a perfectly acceptable means to get through life. Please continue working on your plans though, I'd bet you're gonna need a lot more flotation then you have figured out.
