Probably nowhere. Pumps take a lot more power than solar puts out..Thelma Said:
Battery Power for Home Use-Solar Charged? We Answered:
170 kW is a rate, I think you mean 170 kW-hour, which is a rate of170 kW-hour x 1 day/24 hour x 1 month/30 day = 236 watts, and that is low.
No, get 12 volt sealed marine deep cycle batteries, as large as you can, as you will need a lot of them. The question is: how long do you need to keep power available during a long period with no sun, which can extend to many days, depending on where you live.
If you pick 30 hours for that number, then 236 watts x 30 hours = 7 kW-hours.
A 100 amp-hour battery will store about 1200 watt-hours or 1.2 kW-hours. So under the scenario above you would need 7/1.2 or 6 batteries. At $300 each, that is $1800
Now you need to pick a solar array size. How many hours a day sunlight, worse case, do you expect. Say 6 hours, that means the array has to put out 236x4 = 1000 watts. Probably about $2000.
So you need a 1000 watt panel, charge controller, a stack of batteries, and a high quality inverter, rated at your peak power usage, whatever that is, say 1000 watts.
Reference has a 1000 watt system, array, batteries, all the stuff you need for $4000. They use 8 6v 225amp-hr batteries hooked up as 24 volts 450 amp-hour or 11kW-hour storage
You should get an expert to do the installation.

I want to know how many hours can I get out of one 12 volt deep cycle solar powered battery for home use.?We Answered:
You'll need to know the amp/hour rating of the battery and factor in the current (amp) load demand of the devices being used. I don't think you'll be able to operate a stove for long (if at all) though a DVD player and low wattage light shouldn't be too much of a problem. If the electricity where you live is sporadic then you might think about a camp stove that runs on gas or kerosene. My buddy is trying to live off the grid and has a ton of 12 volt marine batteries and it seems to work OK.
