hard to know how big is the model? I would think if it is just a working small model you can use Styrofoam. or maybe old carpet padding it comes in different thickness and crush strength would be easy to cut to fit. you can also use card board and even house insulation maybe buy some discard from a lumber company sometimes have the loose batts you can also trim to fit. but the Fiberglass is itchy.
