Well, think of it this way. Why doesn't every house have a mulch pit behind it. Those are really good for the environment, they take care of waste, they fertilize the soil, and they are economical. Why doesn't every house come with low voltage electricity appliances? They're good because everyone wins. They cause lower electricity bills, lower electricity waste, less harm to the environment. Why isn't every car on the market a hybrid? They're great for the environment.

The answers are simpler than you think. People like you and I understand that those sorts of things are probably going to become commonplace in the future. The way the environment is headed everyone is going to have to use cleaner energy like solar panels. But they are ugly and expensive. Some communities have actually outlawed the use of solar pannels on rooves. Making these changes, like putting in lower electricity appliances and buying a hybrid car is expensive. You can't expect everyone to be able to afford to fix the situation right off. People come into changes gradually.

Here is a good example. In the last 20-30 years (I don't know exactly when, I'm sorry) they chnaged the standards for water use on faucets. Now showers don't just come in any old size. When you build a house or set up a bathroom you have to make showers that use only so much water. If you don't, I think you can be fined or taxed or something. The point is that these changes are happening, but they are coming about slowly.

The best thing to do is just do your part. Go buy a solar panel for your home and enjoy the fact that you pay less for electricity every year.

They could build it--but who would want to pay the extra money up front like that?
Even though it is better in the long run.

FORGET SOLAR!!! Go GEO. Geo is CONSTANT, day, night, rain, snow, sun... doesn't need cleaning like solar panals... can both heat AND COOL a house. GO GEO!
