Todd Said:

can you please help me with 2 science questions?

We Answered:

1. Do you know what a "photovoltaic cell" is? If not, head to the dictionary, but based on the other questions, I assume you should know.
Think about what a photovoltaic cell does, and how it does it.

Then, you need to know what a chloroplast is (they make the plant green, but they do more in the process). Again, hit up a dictionary or a biology book if you don't already know. Once you've got that, think about what it does, and how it does it.

A photovoltaic cell and a chloroplast both use the same "ingredient" to make the same thing in the end. Just figure out what ingredient and product are. It's the same for both.

2. What is necessary for solar energy to work? The sun! In most locations, the sun will not shine for 24 hours straight due to a lot of reasons: List all of those reasons to start answering the question.
Once you've got that taken care of - what about the cost of producing solar energy? How efficient is it? How many solar panels would be required to power a small cottage with only 1 person living in it? How many solar panels would be required to power a 50 story apartment complex...and where would they all fit? Look at other factors as well, like how often (if at all) the panels would need maintenance, how long energy can be stored (if at all), and many other things.

Good luck.
