Lawrence Said:

the top 10 biggest alternative energy companies?

We Answered:

I believe GE is very big with wind, at least in North America. A commercial on TV by Chevron Oil claimed they were the biggest developer of geothermal in the world... and BP claims to do a lot with solar. I have no sources for this information, just things I've heard and seen recently.

Great question though, I hope someone can give you some good info.

What are the top solar companies in the Los Angeles area?

We Answered:

A great way to make yourself more marketable is to take a solar installation course by an IREC accredited school. They are often 1 - 2 weeks long. You can find a list of them here, http://irecusa.org/irec-programs/ispq-tr… This will give you the basic knowledge on how to install solar systems.

If you can't pay for a class, you should at least watch some videos online to learn the basic terminology so you'll know what you are talking about with them. We have some free ones here, http://www.altestore.com/store/Books-Cla…

NABCEP is the organization that certifies solar installers, protecting customers from fly-by-night companies who claim to know what they are doing. You can find a long list of NABCEP certified installers in CA here, http://www.nabcep.org/installer-locator?…

Should energy companies be subsidized by our federal government?

We Answered:

They should offer incentives to the industries instead...make them perform before you pay them.

If you've ever paid anyone to do work for you up front you know what it yields...delays, excuses, inefficiency...

Do the work -- then get paid.
