Before you install, you have to make sure that the equipment is approved for the tax credit. Once the install is done the seller or manufacturer may need to provide a statement that the equipment you purchased is approved and you submit IRS form 5695 to get back 30% of your purchase up to a maximum of $1500. The install must be completed before December 31, 2010.

Also check the form to make sure what you want to get is elligible for the rebate.
